Federal prosecutors have charged a second man accused of pimping children outside a Tacoma doughnut shop.
In charging documents unsealed Thursday, prosecutors contend Des Moines resident Sabir Shabazz worked with Shabina Devona Rice to pimp at least two teen girls as part of a prostitution ring.
According to charging documents, Rice kept the girls locked away in her Tacoma apartment while running the prostitution ring outside a doughnut shop in the city. Prosecutors contend Shabazz posted advertisements for the girls – 13-year-old runaways who’d turned to Rice for shelter – to find “johns” online.
