As a member of my local PTA we are always looking for fundraisers.

Over the years we have come up with a huge hit with the community!!

Those hotel travel soaps, lotions, shampoos, toilet paper, tissues, shower caps, etc....

They are all SO NEEDED by your local woman's shelter!!

When women have to flee from a horrible situation, they do not think to bring those types of things to a shelter.

Think of all the times you have not used those items while on travel.
As a matter of fact I go so far as to ask for MORE from housekeeping.
I have never had a problem with housekeeping giving me extra.

We also hold fundraisers for clothes, office supplies, linens and just about anything you can think of for a woman and her children.

If you are not a part of your local PTA, then by all means, look up your local woman's shelter online or in the newspaper. They often have a huge wishlist. Simply dropping off a bag or two every once in awhile makes a huge difference!

Another thing...sample/trial sized makeup.

This is perfect for you and yours Spring Cleaning project!

Glad you brought this up. I just asked my son's teacher if she could do something with those items and she said no...

I threw them in the trash.... Great teacher huh?

She just didn't know any better that's all.

My kid's PTA didn't know either until I brought it up in the meetings years ago.

Most people don't think about the "little things" and the "everyday" giving...most think of a check once a year, etc...

WHAT A GREAT IDEA!

I know of a local Mary Kay lady that goes to the Domestic Violence shelter and gives the ladies make overs to make them feel better. She said that the smiles alone are so worth it.

I'm going to go and raid some maid's carts :)

I guess I should really have put another title on this, but it seems that when I travel is when I collect most of the things I give out.

By all means ladies and gents, look around your house, your garage, gather all your family, co-workers and friends together and tell as many people as you can.

GIVE GIVE GIVE, all year long, nothing is too small, EVERYTHING is needed.

Everyone comes out feeling ON TOP, GREAT, MAKING A DIFFERENCE in this situation!

Thank you for all of your support.
