Snippet:
Late Wednesday evening, one of the so-called Mansion Madams -- Lisa Taylor -- walked out of the Gwinnett County Jail. Taylor pleaded guilty to avoid tougher charges and more jail time.
When she walked out of the jail and spoke to assembled reporters, she was described as upbeat and almost flippant. She said she wants to go on with her life, albeit with some new guidelines from the court.
With her mother by her side, Taylor walked out of the Gwinnett County Jail after 21 days.
"I spent the first few days on '53 watch,' which is suicide watch," Taylor said. "So, I spent the first few days there falling apart, but I'm doing okay."
Hours earlier in court, the former Penthouse Pet pleaded guilty to prostitution and running a house of prostitution out of her home in the exclusive Sugarloaf Golf community.
"It's not an admission of anything," Taylor said. "I mean I had to do it in order to get the plea, but my decision was made mostly and mainly on my finances. I've got to pay the house bills."
But when she was asked specifically about turning tricks, she refused to answer reporters' questions. There was a similar reaction to the most serious charge -- she pleaded guilty to felony possession of cocaine.
For the next seven years, Taylor will be randomly tested, and she can be searched without a warrant at any time.
"Seven years gives you quite a bit of time to screw up," Taylor said. "But I danced 23 years in a business that revolves around drugs and alcohol and never touched it once. So, it's not a problem."
Her biggest punishment hits her in the pocketbook. She must raise more than $150,000 within a year to keep her house. Gwinnett District Attorney Danny Porter said he wants to take the profit out of what she was doing.
"It was an average of $3,000-to-$5,000 per week," Porter said. "I don't pull these numbers out of the air. It was based on her own date books and her own records."
To make up that money, Taylor said she plans at least one more adult dancing gig, and said she plans to get back into real estate. But more immediately, she asked for two things -- makeup and a steak dinner.
There's a second woman charged in the case -- Nicole Probert. The question now: will Taylor testify against Probert
